School District ISDN Video Network

Notes:

This slide illustrates a typical education network, currently based on H.320 endpoints. There are many of these installed.
Much of the traffic is between the schools for administrative meetings and distance classes. Costs are high because education typically requires a minimum of 384 kbps, with some districts/universities installing dedicated T1 facilities between a central location (main campus/district office) and satellite locations. With the dedicated lines, the central-site connectivity is typically through an MCU. (Very expensive--a lot of money tied up in communication and videoconferencing equipment and facilities.)
