The National Audio Visual Archives (NAVA) project
The objective of the NAVA project is to prepare the
establishment of a new Public Archive. Its objective is to collect, to preserve
and to provide the Hungarian audio-visual documents to the public that are
parts of the national cultural heritage.
The project is managed by the John von Neumann Digital
Library and financed by the Ministry of Informatics and Communications, The
Ministry of Cultural Heritage and the National Radio and Television Commission.
The following operations of the project were closed in
autumn, 2002:
- preparing the act enabling the operation of NAVA;
- developing the standards and the technology for
digitisation, administration, processing and archiving of audio-visual
documents.
- working out the institutional, technological and infrastructural
background for the NAVA as a Public Archive and preparing the technical
documentation to the necessary investments.
The experts participating in the project finished
their jobs at the highest level.
