• Purpose:  Central European University is committed to the importance of computer literacy in the modern world. To assure that all graduates from CEU are able to demonstrate the ability to perform basic computer-use skills, it is a requirement that students pass the Online Computer Proficiency Exam
  

• Content:  The Test is designed to measure basic abilities in the following areas:
  • File management (on a Windows machine)
  • Typing skills
  • Groupwise e-mail system
  • Word processing (Microsoft Word)

• Taking the test:
  • Where: Computer Labs
  • When: Anytime during opening hours
  • How: Log in to a free computer and visit this webpage: http://www.personal.ceu.hu/departs/comp/exam.htm

• Re-taking the test:
  • You may retake the exam until you successfully finish it. After each attempt, however, you must take an hour brake.

• Other ways of meeting the computer competency requirement:
  • You have been a CEU student last year (2003/04)
