Education

Notes:

Primary/Secondary Education (continued):
Some states mandate minimum curriculum requirements. Remote rural schools may not have access to qualified teachers for special ed or certain required courses. Bringing in these teachers via video is one way to deliver on the state requirements
Higher Education:
Universities are more and more becoming “virtual.” They can offer classes addressing professional development or new technologies in the evenings for workers at regional sites via the network. Many universities see video as a way to reach students that are interested, but cannot reach the campus due to distance, time or family considerations.
Professional/research collaboration. Many universities use videoconferencing as a way to compete with other universities for ever more competitive grant monies.
